VN film to premiere at Hanoi International Film Festival
The movie depicts human relations during busy life in Hanoi, with the characters including a rural shoeshine boy, an old couple, and an elderly musician who teaches a choir full of blind children.
Running with the theme of “Cinema – Humanity, Adaptation and Development”, the festival will be held by the culture ministry’s Cinema Department to honour the excellent international and Vietnamese cinematographic works which boast high artistic value, are rich in humanity, and showcase creativity in cinematic language.
Awards will be presented at the closing night ceremony to be held at the Friendship Palace at 91 Tran Hung Dao street.
The festival looks set to attract 800 delegates from across the globe. A total of 123 entries from 50 countries and territories will compete in categories such as short film, long film, world panorama, and national cinematic.
Addressing a press conference in Hanoi on October 20, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong said the festival will be held at a time when the Vietnamese cinema and other art industries are recovering after a two-year hiatus negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
A wide range of activities are scheduled to take place during the festival, including an exhibition highlighting Hanoi’s historical monuments and cultural heritages, an outdoor movie screening, and a movie star exchange programme.
