The fireworks teams from France and Italy have been selected to compete in the final night of the Da Nang International Firework Festival (DIFF) 2023, the organization board announced on June 25, VNA reported.

According to Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People’s Committee Ngo Thi Kim Yen, who is also head of the organization board, the jury found it difficult to choose the two teams for the final as all the eight teams have shown endless creativity in their eye-catching fireworks performances which left a deep impression on the audience.

The French and Italian teams combined music and fireworks in an artistic and smooth form, and their fireworks displays are very consistent with the rhythm and the emotion of the music, said composer Nguyen Duc Trinh, chairman of the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, a member of the jury.

According to the draw result, the Italian team will perform first, and the French team’s display will close the DIFF 2023.

Previously, the French team brought to DIFF 2023 a performance on the night of June 10 with the theme “Colors of Hope”, depicting stories of love and hope in the language of artistic light and captivating music.

France’s “secret weapon” is to use a Vietnamese song, cleverly integrated as a greeting, gratitude and integration with Vietnam, causing the audience the most excitement ever. French-style music smoothly combined with a Vietnamese song, creating a reasonable fireworks display.

Meanwhile, at the third night, Australia and Italy showed off their fireworks during Chasing Your Dreams.

Italy demonstrated the antique space and modern light with inspiration from a masterpiece Ambiente spaziale a luce nerea (Spatial Environment in Black Light) by Lucio Fontana, an Argentinean-Italian painter, sculptor and theorist (1899-1968).

The Italian team played a classic concert night with effects of fireworks in the skies, creating a night music party with fireworks on the rhythm of ‘Symphony No 5’, and ‘Fate Symphony’, in C Minor, Op.67 by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Different Italian fireworks teams previously had taken top prizes at the annual fireworks festival in Da Nang city, including Italy’s Martarello in 2017-18, and Parente Fireworks in 2011-12.

Da Nang is the only locality in Vietnam to host a fireworks festival, making it a magnet for the best fireworks producers from around the world each year since 2008. It has been building a “Fireworks Festival City” reputation to promote it as a top destination in central Vietnam and Asia.

The festival has helped the city win recognition as Asia’s Leading Festival & Event Destination in 2016 and 2022 by the World Travel Awards.

Both teams have two weeks to prepare for the performance in the final night of DIFF 2023. To increase their competitiveness and attractiveness, the teams must use the list of fireworks selected by the organizers, not self-standard. be like before. At the same time, it is mandatory to use one Vietnamese song requested by the organizers.

This year, the organization board of DIFF 2023 has decided to double the prize value. The champion will receive a prize of USD 20,000 , while the runner-up will receive USD 10,000.

Additionally, two sub-prizes worth USD 3,000 each will be presented to the most creative team and the team that receives the most votes from the audience.

The final night will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel of Vietnam Television at 8:pm on July 8.
