On September 28 at 17:57, a 51-year-old sailor named Rallos Rory Jerome, aboard the DHT Sundarbans en route from Huizhou port (China) to Singapore, suffered a head injury after falling and hitting his head against a metal wall, rendering him unconscious. He was suspected to have a traumatic brain injury.

The ship’s captain immediately contacted the center via shipping agent and logistics provider Asiatrans Vietnam to request assistance.

Upon learning of the incident, the center instructed the vessel to redirect its course towards Da Nang, while coordinating with relevant forces to execute a rescue plan. The specialized search and rescue vessel SAR 412 was dispatched to the scene.

Upon reaching DHT Sundarbans at approximately 10:57 a.m. on September 29, Vietnamese health workers and rescue forces provided first aid to the victim and brought him to the mainland.
